National Basketball Showcase Series

The National Basketball Showcase is in its third year. At our showcase, we feature the regions top basketball players (boys and girls). Knowing the challenges of the recruiting process, our goal is to provide athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents, and to allow college coaches to come to Colorado once to evaluate the top talent. We have invited the colleges and universities (D1*, D2, D3, and NAIA) to attend. The showcase is supported by local high school coaches working to provide their athletes with additional exposure with universities, and hopefully the chance to play after high school.

Coach Certification (men’s & women’s coaches - *NEW*): All individuals who engage in coaching activities at an NCAA-certified men's & women’s basketball events must be approved through the NCAA Coaches Approval Process. NCAA staff members who are employed at a cerified event are not required to complete this process, but all other individuals, including high school, junior college, and prep school coaches are required to obtain the requisite approval. The approval process consists of an application, a criminal background verification, an authorization for release of information, and an NCAA rules educational component. Use this link to apply for NCAA Coach Certification: NCAA Summer Coaches Approval Process. Only NCAA-approved coaches are allowed to sit on the team bench during an NCAA certified event.

Individuals who engaged in coaching activities at an NCAA-certified men's summer basketball event during the summer of 2006 and need to access their approval number may do so using the following link: Approved Coaches for 2007. The LexisNexis approval issued to coaches is good for a two-year period (the year issued and the year following - not a literal two years from the date issued). Individuals who have a current approval, but need to reprint their report may do so with the following link: Run Report.

If you have questions concerning the process, please contact the LexisNexis NCAA Support team at 800-631-8777 or e-mail NCAASupport@Screening.LexisNexis.com. If there is a criminal dispute, you should contact the LexisNexis Compliance Department at 877-913-6245.
