Broomfield Girls become first ever high school team....

Mike Croell and Broomfield Girls basketball team become the first ever high school team (boys or girls) to win 5 straight state titles in Colorado. This is quite an accomplishent for Mike Croell, the head coach of Broomfield and his team. Friday night Broomfield beat conference rival for 2nd year in a row for the title 48-38 (OT). Katie Nehf, Tyana Medema and Bre Burgesser lead the Eagles to history.  Jamie Katuna, Tambre Haddock and Megan Carpenter failed to score into overtime.

This game featured 8 all state athletes on both sides of the ball.  Next Year Longmont loses its 3 key players: Katuna, Haddock and Carpenter. Broomfield looses several 3 key starters as well Burgesser, Nehf and Medema. However, Broomfield has several underclassmen to pursue title number 6.
